How do I connect the App4Sales CMS with my Exact Online administration?

Updated today

Follow the steps below to give the CMS access to Exact Online. After going through the steps, the customer and article synchronization can be started.

Enter the Exact Online details in the CMS

Login to the App4Sales CMS with the data provided by email. The link usually contains your company name and is as follows: https://cms.app4sales.net/yourcompanyname/Login.aspx

Go to Administration > Settings > Installation tab and fill in the fields below:

1. Type: Exact Online

2. Name: specify which Exact Online administration should be linked. The administration name must exactly match the administration name in Exact Online. Therefore you have to take the capital letters, spaces and punctuation marks into account. The illustration below shows where the administration name can be found:

3. Address: Fill in the link https://start.exactonline.nl/

The links below apply to countries other than the Netherlands:

It is not necessary to fill in the 'Username' and 'Password' fields.

4. Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page.

5. Before going to the next step, ensure that you are logged out of Exact Online. This only applies to the computer which is going to authorize with the App4Sales CMS.

1. Open the tab 'Connector settings' in the CMS and click on 'Authorize App4Sales'.

2. Login into Exact Online the usual way with the user who has the most rights within the administration.

3. Give App4Sales permission to the Exact Online administration. This is necessary to collect customers and items and to submit orders.

4. Return to the CMS. Check if the URL in the address bar ends with ExactOnlineCallback=True

Then the connection is successfully completed.

Synchronize

Now that the connection is completed, the customer and article information can be retrieved.

1. Return to the 'Installation' tab.

2. Click on the button with the rotating arrows behind 'Stored items' and 'Stored customers' under the heading 'Synchronize'.

3. The moment the synchronization starts, the dark blue indicator in front of it will turn red and the arrows will start rotating. This indicates that synchronization is in progress. The time required depends on the number of items and customers. On average, it takes about an hour to retrieve 5000 items.

4. When the synchronization has been completed, the indicator will turn blue again and the number of customers and items will be displayed. The date and time have also been updated.

5. View the data retrieved via Customers > Customer management; Items > Item management; and Items > Price lists.
