Preparing for the fair

Updated this week

(Technical) Preparations

  • Test the app.
Go through the process of creating an order or adding a new customer to ensure everything works smoothly and you’re familiar with the features.

  • Test your scanner.
Before the event, make sure your (Bluetooth) scanner is connected to App4Sales and works properly.

  • Know the key functions.
Be sure you know how to quickly search for items, place orders, apply discounts, and enter customer data. This avoids hassle during busy moments. Consider joining a free App4Sales training session.

  • Synchronise in advance.
Do this, for example, at your hotel so all data, such as items, prices, and customer information, are up to date. This way, you’re prepared even if the WIFI at the fair is unstable.

  • Check stock and pricing information.

  • Ensure a stable internet connection.
Use a mobile hotspot or a data SIM card. Trade show Wi-Fi is often slow or unreliable. With your own connection, you can avoid issues.

  • Enter customer information carefully.
Consider scanning business cards to save time and avoid mistakes. You can also customize the customer form if needed.

  • Know your support options.
If something goes wrong, make sure you know where to get help or answers.

User management

  • Do you have enough user accounts, or do you need additional temporary accounts for the event?

  • Ensure users have the correct permissions.
Like creating new customers or applying discounts. This prevents issues during the event.

Order settings

  • Consider using a separate order type for the fair.
You can also link a specific assortment to this order type.

  • Customise the confirmation email for the order type used at the fair.

For example, you can add a thank you message for visiting your booth, delivery information or a link to your collection or website.

Lookbook & Presentation

  • Create an attractive and well-organised lookbook.

  • Make sure all products in the catalog have an image for a more professional presentation.
