Adding a new printer

Warpspeed automatically retrieves the active printers from the application server on which the Warpspeed Printing Service is installed. The printers must therefore be added on this server. The service periodically refreshes the list of available (i.e. active) printers (every few minutes).

Please note that the Printing Service must run under a particular Windows account. The printers must be made known on the server on which the service is running under the same account. You can check this account by going to the service's properties in the Windows Services application. Under the Log On tab, you can see under which account the service is running.

New printers can be added to Warpspeed by using the aforementioned account to log in to the server on which the Printing service is installed.

Next, add the printers in the Windows printer settings. The Printing Service will automatically retrieve these newly added printers and show them in Warpspeed.

Furthermore, it is also possible in Warpspeed to enable or disable existing printers via Reporting > Printers. For more information, see Removing printers from Warpspeed.
