How can I unlink an App4Sales/Core-sales user and/or link a different user to a device?

Each App4Sales/Core-sales user is linked to a device. You can link one user to one device, or to two devices if you have App4Sales/Core-sales Enterprise. When you log in with a Portal4Sales user, this is also considered as a device.

If you try to use more devices per user, you will receive one or more error messages.

You will receive the error message in all apps + Portal4Sales:

'No free license available on user {username}, please contact your App4Sales CMS admin to fix this license issue'.

This means that the device is logged in with a user who is already set up on another device. This occurs automatically when logging in or synchronizing.

In App4Sales Legacy (on iPad), you will first receive a different message:

Headers on the orderscreen can't be properly filled because they aren't filled in the portal

You can ignore this message; afterwards, you will receive the same message as the original error message ('No free license available on user {username}, please contact your App4Sales CMS admin to fix this license issue'.).

How can I resolve this?

1. Use a username that is still available on the device showing the message. Under App4Sales > Manage Users > Column Device ID, you can see if a device is already linked to a user. You can modify an available user (both the username and the password) by clicking on the relevant user and adjusting the user details.

2. Unlink the device from the user: Go to App4Sales >Manage Users Find the relevant user and click on the red trash icon on the right, next to the filled Device ID:

The field will be emptied and the user can be linked to a new device by logging in on the new device, there are no extra steps needed to link the user to the device.

It’s possible that you still receive the error message even after clearing the Device ID. If you don’t have other administrations in the App4Sales app, then delete the app and reinstall it.

Note: when you delete the app, saved orders and the order history will be lost.

Do you have other administrations in the app? Follow these steps:
Do not delete the entire app; only remove the administration where the issue occurs.

App4Sales Legacy
In the Legacy app, do this by clicking on the administration name in the list of administrations.

Followed by "Delete".

Then, add the administration back to your app.

App4Sales Phone
Open the app and click on "Menu" at the bottom right. Then click on "Change administration". Select an environment that is still working and that you do not want to delete, open it. Click "Change administration" again. Select the environment that you want to delete.

Then click on the trash can and confirm with OK.

Finally, add the administration back to your app.
