How does the policy setting Mixed Stock Strategy work?

Mixed stock refers to localities that contain multiple stock fragments. The strategy and locality level determine the extent to which stock fragments in a given locality are allowed to differ.

The idea behind this setting is that localities that are too mixed may lead to operators picking the wrong stock.

There are a number of strategies to choose from:

  • Homogeneous (default) – The locality may contain one item, lot, sublot, and expiration.

The following stragies are often combined with the Locations setting Maximum Depth:

  • Heterogeneous – The locality may contain any item, lot, sublot, and expiration.
  • HeterogeneousByItemAndExpiration The locality may contain one item, any lot, any sublot, and one expiration.
  • HeterogeneousByLot The locality may contain one item, any lot, any sublot, and any expiration.
  • HeterogeneousBySubLots The locality level may contain one item, one lot, any sublot, and any expiration.
